Stacy Pugh’s interest in Michigan’s growth and global competiveness stems from her grassroots in this state. She has witnessed numerous changes in Michigan’s laws, some that are great for all citizens and some that lack in their representation for others. Her desire to serve in the state legislature is to ensure that Michigan is a great state for all, especially those she knows and loves ~ Detroit Michiganders and she plans to bring her hard work ethic to the legislature to do just that.

With over twelve years of professional experience working on consulting projects with esteemed clients such as Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Comerica Bank, US Bank, DTE Energy, and Ernst & Young, Stacy has developed an invaluable work ethic. While working with those clients’ leadership teams, she helped to institute change management, performance and process improvement, and new policy development as well as administered regulatory compliance, operations, systems implementation, system conversion, and strategic planning. Stacy also holds several internationally recognized certifications in Project Management, Information Security and Audit, and Controls Implementation. Additionally, she has experience in conducting extensive re-engineering activities for federal government clients, where she maximized standards and methods of management.

Since leaving the Private Sector Stacy has owned and operated her own professional consulting firm where she offers risk management, audit, and regulatory compliance services to Credit Unions in Michigan and Ohio.

Stacy received her education in the Detroit Public and Parochial School Systems at Cass Technical High School and St. Mary’s of Redford. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta and returned home to acquire her Master’s of Science degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Upon her return to Detroit, Stacy purchased a home in Rosedale Park. She joined the Rosedale Park Improvement Association and Rosedale Radio Patrol as part of the community effort to eradicate crime in the neighborhood.  With her involvement in the radio patrol, she witnessed the effect of a community standing up and speaking out against criminal activity. She is an outspoken activist for quality public education and is dedicated to making sure that all children receive quality public education and that all of the students in Michigan schools, specifically Detroit schools graduate.

While Stacy credits most of her work ethic, high standards, and personal values to her loving family, she attributes her spiritual guidance and fellowship to being a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist church. Her parents John and Priscilla Pugh, who are also native Detroiters retired from Detroit Edison and General Motors. They have maintained a loving home and spirit of community on the Northwest side of Detroit since 1968. John and Priscilla, who have been married for over fifty five years, have laid a strong foundation for their five children. Stacy, the youngest is a proud mother and implements that same model while raising her son, Mekhi. Stacy wants Mekhi to receive a quality education and later a great career in this state.

Stacy’s community, professional and educational background has provided her with the essentials to help revitalize the State of Michigan. Extensive experience in community outreach, conflict resolution, managing the development, implementation and optimization of business infrastructures allows her to utilize those skills to make Michigan strong. Her leadership will ensure that Michigan becomes a global competitor by creating an environment to welcome new businesses to Michigan, creating an atmosphere for jobs, retooling our work force, and making quality education the standard, benefiting all of its citizens.
